Begoro, Jan. 12, GNA - A 40-year-old tailor at Begoro, Okyere Attah Kwasi, has been placed in prison custody by the Begoro District Magistrate Court for allegedly stabbing his elder brother to death. He pleaded not guilty and he is to re-appear in court on January 25, this year.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector William Kwasi Nkrumah, told the court, presided over by Mr Robert Djan that, the 48-year-old deceased, Joseph Nkansah, alias "Joe Boy" was a lotto agent and elder brother of the accused and both of them stayed in the same house. He said on December 23, last year, at about 2000 hours the deceased was returning home from his lotto business when he met the accused also returning from farm.

Chief Inspector Nkrumah said instantly, the accused shouted at the top of his voice calling the name of the deceased without the due respect as his elder brother.

He said the deceased became offended and it resulted into exchange of words between them.

Chief Inspector Nkrumah said when they both reached home at about 2100 hours that day, the accused was unhappy at the utterances the deceased made about him and picked up the quarrel again which resulted in a fight between them.

He said during the fight, the accused pulled a knife from his pocket and stabbed the deceased several times at his back until he fell and died in a pool of blood.

Chief Inspector Nkrumah said the accused was then escorted by a witness to the police station and was put before court.
