Man jailed for raping married woman

Tarkwa (W/R), Jan 24, GNA - A circuit court at Tarkwa has sentenced Kofi Kussasi, a 21-year-old unemployed, to 10 years imprisonment for raping a 45-year-old married woman.

The accused person pleaded guilty.

Police Inspector Florence Tawiah told the court presided over Mr. Samuel Obeng Diawou that Kussasi was a friend to the victim's family and they all resided at Esuokrom near Bogoso in Prestea Huni Valley district.

Prosecution said at about 0010 hours on December 26, last year, the accused person visited the victim, who was sick and weak. Insp. Tawiah said Kussasi took advantage of the woman's condition and forcibly had sex with her.
