Asuboi (Ash), Nov 25, GNA- The decomposed body of a 26-year-old Barber, Kwadwo Gyambo alias Burger, was found in a bush at the Asuboi community in the Ashanti Region, five days after he had shot and killed his girl friend and her two years old son.
Afua Nyameko, 24 and her son, who had attended a wake-keeping on July 17, this year, were trailed by Gyambo to her uncle's house and killed in cold blood.
Nana Kwasi Obuobi Lartey Andrews, Mponuahene, ( a sub-chief) who witnessed the murder, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), at Asuboi, that the marriage between the deceased and one Kofi Douglas, the father of her son, fell on rocks and this paved the way for Nyameko to befriend Gyambo, a close friend to her former husband.
He said Nyameko's mother was not in favour of her daughter's relationship with Gyambo and advised her to end it.
Nana Obuobi said Gyambo who did not take kindly to the break up casted insinuations at Nyameko at the wake-keeping, compelling her to leave the place at 0400 hours infuriated.
Gyambo followed up and murdered Nyameko and her son and fled into the bush where his decomposed body was found.
Chief Superintendent Theodore Gawe, the Konongo Divisional Police Commander and Mr P.S.K. Osae, the Divisional Police Crime Officer, who confirmed the story to the GNA, said gunshot wounds were found in the throat of Gyambo, which suggested suicide. The bodies of Nyameko and her son have been released to the family for burial. 25 Nov. 04
