A man believed to be in his early thirties has been murdered by unknown assailants at Tigo Junction near Ohwim in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti region.

The sad incident has thrown the whole community into a state of shock and mourning.

The deceased had his eyes removed by the unknown assailants.

Ibrahim Salifu a resident narrating the incident to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said he suspects that the deceased was killed by armed robbers.

“My house is near where the incident happened. I woke up around 8am this morning and I saw someone lying under my plantain farm near the roadside. I decided to find out why he was lying there and I realized that he had been attacked by unknown assailants” he said.

Ibrahim added that the Asuofua police came to the scene but they couldn’t convey the body of the deceased to morgue saying they don’t have vehicle. He called on the Ashanti Regional Police Commander COP Ken Yeboah to tighten security at Ohwim and its environs.

The wife of deceased, a resident of Edwira later told the police that her husband is a phone repairer at Sofoline in Kumasi.

Police have since commenced investigations.
