Tema, Feb 16, GNA -- Isaac Kobina, a second hand cloth dealer, has been sentenced to a fine of 6 million cedis by the Tema Circuit Court 'B' for stealing a mobile phone valued at 1.2 million cedis. In default he will serve 12 months imprisonment in hard labour. He pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing and was convicted on his own plea.
Tema, Feb 16, GNA -- Isaac Kobina, a second hand cloth dealer, has been sentenced to a fine of 6 million cedis by the Tema Circuit Court 'B' for stealing a mobile phone valued at 1.2 million cedis. In default he will serve 12 months imprisonment in hard labour. He pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing and was convicted on his own plea. According to the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Ben Agbedanu, the complaint Kwame Mawunya on February 12 boarded a taxi with Kobina. Kobina intentionally dropped his money in the car and when Mawunya tried to pick it for him he picked the mobile phone from his back pocket and immediately signalled the driver to stop for him to get down. The next day Kobina attempted to steal another mobile phone but he was arrested and sent to the Harbour Police. Mawunya was contacted and he came to the station to identify the phone that got missing the previous day.
