Legon, May 17, GNA - A 27 year-old unemployed Amidu Sani who stole four mobile phones belonging to students who were writing examination at the K.A.B. Jones Quartey building complex at the University of Ghana, Legon, has been sentenced to one year imprisonment by the Madina Magistrate Court Grade One, presided by Mrs. Beatrice Darko. Police Chief Inspector Ebenezer Darko told the court that on May 5, 2005 Amidu was arrested at one of the examination centres after he had stolen one of the bags on the veranda belonging to Miss Peggy Ansah Asiedu who was taking a paper.
After carrying the bag to one of the lavatories he begun emptying the contents but a Security Officer pounced on Amidu and arrested him after he had removed the lady's mobile phone and placed it in his pocket.
