Family of the 10 -year-old girl who is partially paralysed after being defiled twice by an auto-mechanic in a bush, is considering withdrawing the case from the court following request from the investigator that they foot the transport bill of the police and suspect at every hearing.
According to them, they were forced to pay for transportation of the taxi that conveyed the suspect and the investigator from Anyaa to the court premises and back to Anyaa Police Station on Monday 17th August, 2015.
Mother of victim Daina Sowah, disclosed to Atinka News that the investigator, Mary Ashai, informed the family they should be prepared to continually foot the transport bill until the case is closed.

The 10-year-old girl from a very poor home has been left bedridden after being defiled twice by a man known to be her classmate’s father at Anyaa, a suburb of Accra.
The class one pupil of Anyaa D/A Government School was defiled by the man in a bush on 14th and 17th July, 2015, while she was on her way to school.
The man known to the victim as “Jessica Papa” (Jessica’s Father), is said to be an auto mechanic who lives in the area.
The girl, who is currently on admission at the Child Health Department of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital cannot walk or stand.
The Principal Nursing Officer at the Child Protection Unit of the Child Health Department at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Mrs. Harriet Klufio is appealing for financial support.
