The owner of Zen Filling Station in Mankessim, Isaac Eshun also known as Nana Nyeiku VII who was arrested in connection with the shooting of a police officer has been granted bail.

L/Cpl. Kingsley Boahene of Mankesim District was killed last month when a police patrol team responded to a distress call at the Zen filling station. He was found in a supine position in a pool of blood dead wearing blue shorts with a white top.

The murder scene is about 400 metres from the filling station both along the Mankesim-Kumasi motor road.

Crime scene investigation conducted by the Regional CID found out that the spent cartridges retrieved from the murder scene were suspected to have been fired from the shotgun and pistol belonging to suspect Isaac Eshun, hence his arrest and detention.

Meanwhile, the second accused person, who’s a driver to Isaac Eshun has also been granted bail with the same conditions.

Lawyer for the accused persons, Daniel Arthur told newsmen that they’re ready to cooperate with the police to get to the bottom of the matter.
