Ten out of the 11 persons who were arrested for recruiting people under the pretext of enlisting them into the National Security Network have been granted bail.

They were granted bail in the sum of GH¢5,000 each with one surety to be a civil servant.

One of the suspects is currently on the run and the police said they had mounted a manhunt for him.

They were also to report at the Accra Regional Police Command on Wednesday morning.

The case has since been adjourned to December 22, 2015.

A group of ex-national security operatives were busted by the Ghana Police Service over its alleged involvement in a recruitment scam for the national security.

The Ghana Police confirmed it rounded up the syndicate made up of 13 people which took between Gh¢50 and Gh¢150 as fees from their unsuspecting victims in Accra.

Over 325 Ghanaians fell victim to the scam, the Greater Accra regional spokesperson of the police ASP Afia Tenge revealed.

The group was busted during one of their training sessions with the recruits at Taifa, a suburb of Accra.

The suspects were put before court for defrauding. Early this year scores of people also fell victim to a police recruitment scam. A senior police officer COP Patrick Timbilla is on interdiction over the scam.
