The Ningo/Prampram District in 2014 recorded a reduction in crime offences, according to statistics released by the Prampram District Police Command.
The total offences in 2013 were 1,341 as against 928 in 2014.
The offences were assault, causing harm, attempted murder, murder, threat of death, threat of harm, defilement, rape, stealing, robbery, causing unlawful damage, fraud trespassing, and fraudulent transaction in land and narcotics.
The Commander of the Ningo/Prampram District, Superintendent Paul Kwame Bampo, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said the reduction in crime was due to numerous fora held to educate the people on crime prevention.
He said his men would not relent in their efforts to clamp down on crimes and would ensure that the offences further dropped in 2015 for the people to live in peace and tranquility.
Supt. Bampo expressed gratitude to the people for their co-operation and advised them to be vigilant and volunteer information on any nefarious activities in their vicinities to the police.
