A 25-year-old Okada rider has been arrested by the Awutu Bereku District Command for allegedly kidnapping a 12-year-old schoolboy named Solomon Kwaku Wise at Awutu Botoku in the Central Region.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

The suspect was caught on a CCTV camera in front of a Chinese company along the Awutu Bereku-Bontrase road.

Cecelia Aquah, the mother of the victim, recounted that she had escorted her son to the junction to take an Okada to school, but the rider failed to take the boy to his school.

When her son did not return home after school hours, Cecelia went to the school and discovered that Solomon had been absent all day.

It was the footage from the CCTV camera in front of the Chinese company that ultimately led to the suspect's arrest.

The victim's father, Bismarck Kojo Ewusi, is calling for justice for his son.

The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation.

The victim has been found and reunited with his family.
