Accra, June 2, GNA - The Greater Accra Regional Police Service on Thursday advised members of the public who have informed the police about threats to their lives to heed security tips and special advice provided them.

In a statement signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police Jordan Quaye, Public Relations Officer, the Police cautioned that such persons should not be seen openly in pubs, discotheques and beach resorts and then blame the police for not protecting them should anything go wrong.

"The general public are as well advised not to grant interviews to the media, especially on TV camera, if they were victims of serious crime, that is robbery, rape, defilement, gang rape, or they risk being pursued by other criminals who might feel exposed."

The statement advised the public to be security conscious in all spheres of life.
