The Ghana Police Service has intensified its investigation into the murder of two individuals in the Eastern Region town of Maame Krobo, near Donkorkrom.
The Service has responded by deploying a Specialized Investigative Team to support the Eastern North Regional Police Command.
The team, dispatched from the Police Headquarters, comprises crime scene experts, homicide investigators and undercover officers.
Two individuals were found murdered, with their heads severed, creating a climate of fear and panic among the residents. The victims were reported to be nomadic herdsmen.
The Police have maintained regular contact with the victims' families and are collaborating closely with community leaders to swiftly and appropriately address this tragic incident.
They have appealed to the area's residents to remain calm as efforts are underway to capture the perpetrators.
"We urge the community to stay calm and continue supporting the Police as we strive to uphold peace, security, law, and order. We are confident that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will be apprehended and brought to justice," the Police stated in a May 30, 2024 statement.
