The Techiman District Police Command in the Bono East Region has arrested twenty-five suspected criminals involved in the peddling and consumption of illicit drugs.

The arrest carried out on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, follows a targeted security operation in various criminal hideouts in the municipality, aimed at clamping down on drug-related and other criminal activities.

The operation led by Superintendent Charles Atuah uncovered nineteen wrappers containing a whitish powder suspected to be cocaine, along with dried leaves concealed in a polythene bag, believed to be Indian hemp.

The suspected narcotic substances have since been taken into custody for further examination and investigation.

The suspects arrested include Mubarack Alhassan, 26; Amoako Prosper, 28; Manarf Inusah, 19; Owusu Amos, 23; Suleman Mudasel, 18; Comfort Frimaa, 20; Samuel Nimoh, 22; and Ridwan Mohammed, 21, all residents of Abanmu.

They were apprehended at their hideout within the central business area of Techiman during the operation.

In separate swoops, the police team also arrested Amado Charles, 20; Kofi Alex, 20; Zongo Umar, 35; Sharif Yahaya, 18; Nurideen Abu, 25; and Solomon Sheganyi, 18, at Kenten.

Additionally, Edmund Gyimah, 30; Nana Agyemang Eugen, 24; Boahen Stephen, 22; Frimpong James, 30; Dabou Naa Michael, 23; and Tiwaa Hawa, 37, were picked up at Tako, all in connection with suspected drug-related activities.

Meanwhile, the Bono East Regional Police Command has assured residents of heightened security and intelligence-led operations in the region to maintain law and order before, during and after the yuletide.
