A man has allegedly killed his wife and their two-month-old baby at Washington in the Kpone Katamanso district.

The man, who is currently on the run, is said to have killed the two persons after accusing his wife of infidelity.

The suspect, identified as Jacob Akpandango Asibi, allegedly committed the gruesome act over suspicions that he was not the biological father of the child.

Some residents commenting on the matter claimed that the tension between the couple dates back a month, as the husband lamented that the two-month-old baby was not his.

The residents and neighbors have described the incident as shocking, with some wondering why the man failed to do a DNA test to determine if he was indeed not the father.

“This is shocking. The man had been fighting with the wife and claimed he was not the biological father of the baby. But the point is that if you are not the father, you could have done a DNA test to be sure and not killed the wife and the baby,” a resident said.

“The man should have done a DNA test before taking any action. It was only a DNA test that could have conclusively determined if he was the father or not. I think from what has happened, we have to take depression really seriously. The fight between them started very long ago, and I think they should have sought help,” another individual said.

The police are currently on a manhunt for the suspect after launching an investigation into the matter.
