Police resolve to fight crime during Yuletide

Koforidua, Dec.16, GNA- The Eastern Regional Police Command has assured The public of their resolve to fight crime in the society, especially during the Christmas festivities. It has therefore called on peace-loving Ghanaians to co-operate with them by giving relevant information that would help them track down criminals in the society.

The Regional Commander of Police, ACP Felix Asare-Darko, gave the assurance on Friday, when he met with divisional and district crime officers to map out strategies in flushing out criminals in the region during the Christmas holidays.

He observed that, due to intensive search to flush out criminals from the Ashanti and Greater Accra Regions, most of them had relocated to the Eastern Region as their new operational field and therefore called on the public to be vigilant. On road safety, ACP Asare-Darko cautioned drivers and other road users to adhere to traffic regulations to ensure accident-free Christmas .. He said the police would as part of their operation, mount snap checks on the roads to check recalcitrant drivers on over speeding and overloading.
