Mankessim (C/R), May 10, GNA – The police in Mankessim have vowed to prevent the area from becoming a sanctuary for criminals reported to be scared and fleeing Kasoa under intense police activity.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Owoahene Adjei Achampong, the Divisional Commander, said adequate security measures had been taken to make the place a ‘no-go area’ for them.
He added that they had the skills and logistics to deal decisively – ruthlessly with anybody who had planned to cause trouble in the Mfantseman Municipality.
He was speaking after the arrest of 10 suspected criminals including a female, in separate raids carried out in Mankessim.
The police seized from them 20 mobile phones, a Honda motorbike, television set, three video desks, a speaker box and dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
ACP Achampong said they were never going to allow criminals to have their way to make life miserable for law-abiding people.
The police were determined to stay ahead of the miscreants and he encouraged the people to help flag up suspicious persons in their communities to them.
He gave the assurance that the identity of informants would be protected.
