Policeman killed at Manso Nkwanta; weapon stolen

Corporal Bernard Antwi, of the Ghana Police Service with the Manso Nkwanta District in the Ashanti Region has been shot dead by an unknown assailant and his weapon stolen by the assailants MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.

The deceased COP with service number 43385 it is gathered, closed from a check point duty near Agroyesum at about 6pm on Monday August 19, 2019 and was alleged to have gone to a mining site at the outskirts of Manso Dome near Antoakrom about 3 kilometers from the duty point with a service raffle while his colleague one Corporal Mark Way returned to the station.

Thirty minutes later, information was received that he had been shot in the head by an unknown gun man and was rushed to St. Martin’s Catholic Hospital by a motor rider who appeared at the scene.

A team of policemen detailed to the scene saw his lifeless body at the same hospital morgue without the service raffle.

Police disclosed that efforts are being made to get the perpetrators.
