Policeman's son appear before court

Asamankese, April 28 GNA - Enoch Aidoo, a 26-year-old son of a policeman in Asamankese, has appeared before the Asamankese Circuit Court charged with being on premises for unlawful purpose.

He was granted a 2,000 Ghana cedi bail with one surety to re-appear on May 29.

Police Chief Inspector Kate Ogyiri, told the court presided over by Mr Kofi Akrowiah, that on April 19, Mohammed Ibrahim, complainant, woke up at about 0300 hours to urinate only to find Aidoo in his room standing by his computer.

She said the Ibrahim held the accused in an attempt to arrest him and a struggle ensued in the room which sent them outside the room. Chief Inspector Ogyiri said Ibrahim raised the alarm and colleagues in the house went to his aid to arrest Aidoo.

She said Aidoo, who often stole from the rented police quarters and described as a member of a stealing syndicate, had been a source of worry to the whole of the Police community at Asamankese.
