Serial Robber Jailed 6 Years

The Duayaw Nkwanta Circuit Court in the Tano South District of the Brong Ahafo Region, has sentenced thirty year old serial robber, Berma Moro, to six years imprisonment with hard labour for stealing. The prosecutor, Chief Inspector Samuel Amoani of theYamfo police station, told the court presided over by Justice Emmanuel Amo Yartey that the accused had previously been sentenced to a two year jail term in 2002 for stealing at Tanoso.

He continued that just one week after his release from prison, Moro stole again and was slapped with another two year sentence by the Fiapre circuit court in Sunyani and came out about one month ago.

The prosecutor added that on the 2nd of June this year at Tanoso, Moro again broke through a window and made away with three half pieces of clothes, two pairs of shoes, necklaces, a wrist watch, and a cash of 500,000 cedis belonging to Afia Boahemaa and her husband.

To escape arrest, he fled to Susuanso but on June 11, he stole again but was arrested. When his room was searched, some of the previous items he had stolen were found. He was subsequently charged and put before the court.
