For the fourth time running, the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso Central constituency, Alhaji Said Sinare has managed again to draw large crowd of supporters from various parts of Accra, particularly Nima and Zongo Lane, to converge at the cocoa affairs cluster of courts in Accra to sympathise with him.

After his case was adjourned yesterday, to August 25, 2004, because of the judge?s absence, Alhaji Sinare stayed outside the court premises for a long time, conversing and interacting with his supporters. As soon he left the court premises, most of his supporters also left the scene. Sinare?s NDC supporters, however, behaved themselves, in view of the presence of the Striking Force Unit, who were there to contain any eventuality.

Sinare is standing trial for allegedly organizing certain electoral assistants to input a few ghost names in the electoral register.

One of the assistants, Sydney Nii Armah, who was allegedly caught in the act, by Kwame Asiamah, allegedly confessed to having been engaged to do so by the NDC parliamentary aspirant. The whistleblower, Kwame Asiamah, who has changed two houses because of what he describes as threats to his life, drew the attention of the judge at the last sitting, which made the judge to order the police to ensure his security.
