Sprayer commits suicide at Akyem Oda

Akyem Oda (E/R) May 18, GNA - Kwaku Adofo, a 42-year-old sprayer, who felt he was not progressing in life committed suicide on Sunday by hanging himself in a bedroom at Akyem Oda Old Town. A family source told the Ghana News Agency that Adofo, who was living at Tema decided to come back home for good and was lodging with his elder brother, Edward Effah at Akyem Oda Old Town.

On the fateful day, Effah who was sleeping together with the deceased in the same bedroom woke up at about 2000 hours, only to see his brother's body hanging from the ceiling with a nylon rope around his neck in an adjourning room.

According to the source, a report was made to the police who after examining the scene conveyed the body to the Akyem Oda Government Hospital morgue.

When contacted, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sampson Agbeko, the Akyem Oda Divisional Crime Officer confirmed the incident and said no foul play was suspected. He said the body had since been released to the family for burial after an autopsy at the Hospital.
