Steel bender steals pipes from Nestle Factory.

Tema, Oct. 8, GNA - A steel bender who was caught at the premises of Nestle Ghana Limited at the industrial area stealing pipes has been put before the Tema Circuir Court 'B'.

Kwaku Essuman pleaded not guilty to charges of unlawful entry and stealing and has been remanded by the court and will re-appear on Tuesday, October 12.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Teye Matey told the court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that on August 23 this year, at about 0300 hours, a security man at Nestle Ghana Limited on duty at various locations at the factory saw the accused person and one other now at large, at the new site of the factory.

Inspector Matey said the witness saw the accused person and his accomplice opening a wooden box, and they moved in and apprehended Essuman, but his accomplice managed to escape into the bush. The prosecution said during interrogation, the accused person led the security men into a gutter, where they retrieved three vacuum deares pipe and five extension galvanised pipes valued at 6.5 million cedis. The matter was reported to the police and Essuman was arrested, Inspector Matey added.
