The Biblical strength of Sampson was replicated at Santrokofi-Benua in the Hohoe Municipality when Richard Norgbey, a 34–year-old farmer, exhibited exceptional force to warrant the Police to revise their strategy during an arrest.

The arresting Police task force moved in when Norgbey attempted to set ablaze his father’s building.

Mr Kartey Otumi, Hohoe Divisional Crime Officer, said the arresting team met a fierce resistance from Norgbey on sighting them leading to a struggle that lasted for over 30 minutes before he was subdued.

He said the fall-out was that one of the arresting officers lost the flesh on his right cheek which Norgbey bit off.

Mr Otumi said the suspect who feigned collapsing in the ensuing struggle, was rushed to the Hohoe Municipal Hospital where he is on admission under Police guard.

He said the policeman who suffered the injury was treated and discharged.

The Divisional Crime Officer indicated that the suspect was likely to be charged for threat of death as he pulled a gun, boasting to kill anyone who dared him.

Other charges, he said, might include attempted arson, resisting arrest and causing harm to a public officer.

Joyce Osei, wife of the suspect, will face the full rigours of the law for aiding obstruction to arrest.
