A photo of the bus that was set ablaze
At least two people have reportedly been burned to death after a Kumasi-bound bus traveling from Pulmakom was intercepted and set ablaze by suspected Mamprusi bandits near Walewale this afternoon.
According to viral posts online, the brutal attack occurred just meters from a police barrier.
Despite the proximity of the checkpoint, officers were unable to intervene as they were unarmed. They immediately called for backup.
According to reports, by the time police and military backup arrived, the assailants had already fled, leaving behind a scene of devastation.
The soldiers watched helplessly as the bus and its victims were consumed by flames, reducing them to ruins.
