Suspects in Apesokubi murder case arrested

Ho, Jan. 17, GNA - A total of 26 suspects, comprising 17 men and nine women were arrested on Tuesday by the Volta Region Police Command in connection with a shooting incident at Apesokubi.

The event occurred on December 29, last year, which led to the killing of one person.

Nana Alefle Okitikpo 111, Head Chief of Akporsor’s car was burnt to ashes and two others were wounded in the incident,

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Alexander Bedie, Regional Police Commander made this known during a media brief in Ho on Tuesday.

He said a total of 18 short-guns, a locally made pistol, 85 live cartridges, 83 empty shells of cartridges, a Milo tin of gunpowder, three cutlasses, a rough edged dagger and two ammunition pouches were retrieved.

DCOP Bedie said the arrests were the result of intelligence reports and investigations.

He said the suspects would be screened and those found culpable would be prosecuted.
