Teacher jailed for violating four girls

year- old teacher who defiled a 13 year old at Mamprobi in Accra, has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by an Accra Circuit.

Godfrey Yeboah was also found guilty of indecently assaulting three other girls aged 13 and 11 by fondling their breasts and thighs and inserting his finger into their vagina.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges before the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh. Yeboah is said to have admitted offering three tablets to one of the victims.

The facts presented by Police Inspector Kofi Atimbire are that the complainant was the Headmistress of a school (name withheld) while the convict was a teacher in the school.

On 13 November 2013, one of the students heard rumours indicating that one of the victims was having an affair with the accused.

Prosecution said the 13- year- old victim made known to the complainant what had transpired between her and the accused.

According to the prosecutor, the victim disclosed that she had had sex with Yeboah on four occasions.

Inspector Atimbire said three other girls from Yeboah’s class also told the Headmistress what the accused person had done to them.

One of the victims told the complainant that Yeboah inserted his fingers into her vagina on three occasions. Another victim also stated that Yeboah inserted three tablets into her vagina after complaining of discharge.

One of the victims 11, prosecution said, also told the complainant that Yeboah fondled her breast. The victims were issued with medical reports for examination and treatment.

In Yeboah’s caution statement, he admitted offering three tablets to one of the victims to insert, adding that some of the female students did not dress well, and therefore it was when he was dressing them, that his hands sometimes touched their breast.

Yeboah however denied having sex with the victim.
