Techiman (B/A), Feb.11, GNA- The Techiman Circuit Court, has sentenced a 23-year-old farmer to 10 years imprisonment in hard labour on two counts of causing harm and intentionally and unlawfully causing harm.

Kwame Adinkrah pleaded guilty.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Sampson Y. Jebuni, told the Court presided over by Mr Justice Erasmus Gyinae, a High Court Judge sitting as a Circuit Court Judge, that on July 18 last year, Adinkrah and five accomplices conspired to rob the complainant Madam Ama Nyamekye and the husband.

He said while robbing the couple the accused threatened to behead the complainant if she did not show where she had kept her money. Chief Inspector Jebuni said the threat compelled Madam Adinkrah to call her husband to lead the robbers to where she had kept 10 million cedis.

Prosecution said in the bid to defend herself Madam Adinkrah severed all her fingers on her right hand.

When sympathisers raised the alarm, the robbers stabbed the husband of the complainant in the stomach with scissors and run away with the money.
