Paul Tampah, 18, has been remanded in prison custody by a Tarkwa circuit court for stealing gold valued at GH¢3,400.

He pleaded guilty and would re-appear on September 28 to be sentenced.

Police Chief Inspector Edward Paddy told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng Diawuo that the complainant, Frank Mensah lived with the accused person.

He said on September 2, the complainant kept an amount of GH¢900 and gold valued GH¢3,400 in his bag and went to work but when he returned in the evening he detected that someone had entered his room and made away with the money and the gold.

Inspector Paddy said the complainant suspected the accused person and reported the case to the police.

He said on September 10, the accused person was arrested from his hide out in Cape Coast by the complainant and was handed over to the Nsueam Police.
