Tema, Oct 09, GNA -- The Tema police have arrested a 36-year old armed robber, Isaac Kwarteng, who attempted to rob a pastor at his Manet Cottage residence on the Spintex road in the late hours of yesterday. Chief Superintendent Daniel Laryea Odai, the Tema Deputy Regional Police Commander, told newsmen that for sometime now criminals have been threatening Pastor Abraham Garshon.
As a result, Pastor Garshon alerted the Tema Community Two police who mounted constant surveillance at his residence in anticipation of a strike by the criminals.
At about 2345 hours Kwarteng, in the company of others now at large, arrived at the house of the Pastor in an unregistered taxicab. As the armed robbers called the Pastor to come out with all his money, police moved in and ordered them to lie down. Chief Supt Odai said Kwarteng threatened the police with a knife with the intent of stabbing their leader, DSP John Naami but he was arrested after a struggle. The others escaped.
