Tema, Aug 4, GNA - The Tema Police have arrested two young men suspected to be members of a syndicate of robbers.

Briefing newsmen in Tema, Chief Inspector Yaw Nketia-Yeboah, Head of the Regional Public Affairs, said the suspected robbers, Joseph Honey, 22, and Moses Adams 21, were alleged to have robbed occupants of broken down vehicles as well as travellers on the Accra/Tema Motorway. Recounting one of such incidents Chief Inspector Nketia-Yeboah said on July 26, Honey and Adams attacked and wounded two masons, Kumi Atsu and Christian Kove, who were crossing the motorway from Kanawn village to Klagon, a suburb of Ashaiman.

He said Kove escaped to the village whose residents arrested and nearly lynched the two robbers.

Chief Inspector Nketia-Yeboah said an opinion leader in the village called in the Tema police and retrieved a locally manufactured pistol and a cutlass on Honey and Adams respectively.

The police, the Regional Public Affairs Head said, sent the robbers to the Tema General Hospital for treatment and later charged them with robbery.
