Three arrested for stealing rail lines

Nsawam, Aug. 10, GNA- The Nsawam District circuit court presided over by Mrs Elizabeth Ankoma, has granted bail to three persons arrested for allegedly stealing rail lines at Boukrom a suburb of Nsawam. They are Kwame Togbe, unemployed, Iddrisu Mohammed, a scrap dealer and Kwame Adjie, a taxi driver The three would reappear again on August 23.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector David Addra told the court the police had information that some people were stealing the rail lines in the area.

He said on July 19, at about 1900 hours, the police went on patrol and intercepted an Opel Astra with registration number GR 9803U. When the vehicle was searched, metals for laying the rail lines and other materials was found.

They were arrested and after investigations charged with the offence.
