The Western Regional Police Command has arrested three persons in connection with a daylight robbery that took place in Nyanikrom near Shama Junction.

A statement issued by the Police on July 12, 2025, indicated that the robbery occurred on July 9, 2025.

The statement further added that the arrest followed a targeted surveillance operation based on credible intelligence.

According to the statement, the police found out that the suspects had insider information and were plotting to rob officials of a company located in Nyanikrom, specifically targeting cash withdrawn for payment of salaries.

Their plan was executed around noon when company staff, after withdrawing money from the bank in Takoradi, were ambushed near Unique School Junction at Nyanikrom.

The robbers who were riding on a motorbike and an unregistered vehicle intercepted the company vehicle, forcibly broke the window, and fled with the money.

Police personnel who had been monitoring the area quickly took action, which led to the arrest of suspects and the recovery of GH¢149,5000.00.

The suspects identified as Francis Mensah alias Francis Kwaw, 34 years, Ebenezer Cofie, 32 years, and Samuel Bentum, 35 years, are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

However, a company driver, Maxwell Kofi Yeboah, who allegedly conspired with the robbers, is on the run.
