Handcuff
A trader in Kumasi who allegedly opened a deep wound on the arm of her co-tenant with a sharp razor blade, is standing trial at a Kumasi Circuit Court.
Georgina Agyemang, 30, also faces charges for assaulting two others, Priscilla Appiah and Joseph Ruby, both neighbours.
Joseph Ruby, 47, also a trader, has however been charged with disturbing public peace.
The two accused persons have denied the charges and are on a GH¢20,000.00 bail with one surety each. They will to go back to the Court on June 10, this year
Police Chief Inspector Hannah Acheampong, told the Court presided over by Madam Comfort Tasiame that at about 0800 hours on January 1, this year, a misunderstanding between Georgina and Ruby, who had not been on talking terms for a long time triggered a brawl which later degenerated into a fight.
Deborah and Priscilla complainants in the case, intervened to separate them and tried to calm them down.
About 30 minutes later, Ruby left the house but Georgina still angry, chased and assaulted her, surprisingly, she turned round to make a formal complaint at the Old Tafo police Station that she had rather been assaulted by Ruby, the Court was told.
Georgina still boiling with rage, reportedly returned from the police station and without any provocation pounced on Deborah and opened the deep razor wound from her shoulder to the elbow of her left shoulder.
With blood oozing out of Deborah's wound, a formal report was made to the Old Tafo Police and after investigations, Georgina and Ruby were arraigned.
