Truck pusher defiles girl

Techiman (B/A), April 13, GNA - A circuit court in Techiman has remanded a 28-year-old truck pusher of Wenchi to reappear on April 19 for defiling a 12-year-old ice water seller. Attah Kwabena, the truck pusher, pleaded not guilty to the charge of defiling the minor.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Sampon Y. Jebuni told the court that on March 25 the victim's parents sent her to sell ice water at Wenchi.

The accused told the girl he wanted to buy some of the water and asked her to accompany him to Wenchi Community Centre where he defiled her.

The accused went into hiding after the act but was traced and arrested.
