Tema, Oct. 13, GNA - The Tema Magistrate's Court has remanded a truck pusher for removing batteries and headlights of a broken-down articulator truck at Community Four Roundabout. Sunday Avobire, pleaded not guilty, and will re-appear on October 25.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Comfort Agbagba told the court presided over by Nana Agyeman Badu that on September 20 this year, at 1900 hours, an articulator truck broke down at the Community Four Roundabout, and the driver asked his mate to sleep in the vehicle to keep watch.

Chief Inspector Agbagba said, deep in the night, an unusual noise around the vehicle woke the mate up, he then saw some people running away from the vehicle.

The prosecution said when the visibility became clear, the mate detected that the thieves had made away with two heavy-duty batteries, two headlights and a jack.

Chief Inspector Agbagba said the driver had a hint that someone had sent a heavy-duty battery to a fitting shop for repairs, and he went there with his company's electrician, who identified the battery. When the electrician at the shop was confronted, he admitted that, someone brought it for repairs.

The prosecution concluded that later on when the accused person went back to collect the battery, he was arrested.
