Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested two Fulanis suspected to be members of a gang terrorising residents of Agogo and its environs.

Police said the two, Umar Jinji, 19, and Denji Buyor, 29, have succeeded in killing two of their victims in separate robbery operations.

They are said to have shot and killed a 63-year-old cassava farmer and another 25-year-old farmer at separate locations on the same day.

The suspects were later arrested at their hideout at Donkorkrom in the Eastern Region by the Agogo Police.

Addressing the press in Kumasi on Thursday, Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP Ampofo Duku, said the suspects were identified by their victims during an identification parade.

“We came to Kumasi Central Prisons and then picked other six Fulani young men who are serving terms of imprisonment and then we mixed them with the two but because it was daylight and they also removed the mask they were wearing and the incident also took place only last month, they were fresh in the memories of the victims so seven of the victims were able to identify Denji Buyor, who is 29 years old, and Umar Jinji, 19,” Mr Duku said.
