The Tema Police Command on Sunday intercepted a tipper truck loaded with unspecified number of bags of dried cocoa beans.
The truck, with registration number GT-9438-15, was intercepted at the Tsopoli Police barrier on the Tema-Aflao highway.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Juliana Obeng, the Tema Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, briefing the media, said the truck was intercepted upon a tip off.
ASP Obeng said on April 19, the tipper truck which was coming from Aflao was stopped at the barrier and inspection carried on it.
She stated that one Seth Kordie, who was the driver in charge of the vehicle, was unable to produce the waybill covering the cocoa beans loaded in the truck.
The Police, who suspected the cocoa beans might have been stolen, arrested Kordie and one other occupant and escorted them to the Tema Regional Police Command.
ASP Obeng noted that investigation was still ongoing to ascertain where the beans were coming from and its destination.
According to her, the arrest was the second this year, adding that, some suspects have been arraigned before the court for stealing cocoa beans.
