The TDC Magistrate Court in Tema on Monday, granted bail in the sum of GH¢ 5,000.00 with one surety each to two businessmen who allegedly assaulted another businessman.
Ibrahim Sowah Komietier and Edward Ofori were granted the bail by the Court presided over by Mr Isaac Adjei after they pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault.
The facts on the case as presented to the Court by the prosecution said Komietier, 40 years, and Ofori, 43, were both businessmen likewise the complainant Mr Emmanuel Djan.
Inspector G. K. Dziekor, prosecuting, said on October 6, this year, at about 2245 hours, when the complainant was returning from his office at Tema Community One Site 16, he saw a car driving at top speed and it veered towards him.
When complainant reached the frontage of Obonu FM, Komietier, who was driving the said car, stopped and threw a punch at complainant’s face without any provocation.
Complainant, the Court was told, reported the incident to the Tema Community Police where a medical form was issued to him to attend any government hospital for examination and treatment.
The prosecution said on October 8, while the case was still being investigated by the Police, at about 2300 hours, when complainant went to site 16 to check on his cars, Komietier in the company of Ofori again assaulted and beat him up without any provocation.
Another case was reported at the police station on the assault and a medical form issued.
The two were invited and after investigations and arraigned before the court.
Komietier and Ofori would reappear in Court on December 3.
