A Kumasi Circuit Court has directed two alleged armed robbers to be held on remand.
The men are members of a robbery gang that attacked and robbed people of their cash and cellular phones.
Alexander Peprah, alias “Killer”, and Akwasi Boateng, alias “Usher”, are facing charges of conspiracy and robbery.
Their pleas were not taken and would make their next appearance on Tuesday, July 28.
Six of the other members of the gang, identified as Rashid, Sowah Nini, Kofi Thousand, Kofi Taiky, “Abodam” and Black “G,” are, however, on the run.
Police Chief Inspector Felix Akowuah told the Court, presided over by Madam Comfort Tasiame, that on June 15, at about 2230 hours, the pair together with their fugitive colleagues, armed with locally manufactured pistols and other deadly weapons, attacked the victims at Ash-town Down-town, in Kumasi.
He said they succeeded in robbing three people, Kofi Frimpong, a welder; Mavis Afriyie, a trader; and Kwadwo Appau Mensah, a barber; of their money totalling GH?270.00 and a Nokia mobile phone valued at GH? 200.00.
The prosecution said a report was made to the police and investigations led to the arrest of the two.
