Two killed in motorbike accident

One person died on the spot and the other later at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital when a motorbike in which they were riding on collided with a Hyundai bus at Gomoa Akropong, near Agona Swedru.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Samuel Amfo, Acting Agona Swedru Divisional Commander of Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) who disclosed this to the Press at Swedru mentioned their names as Angel Oteng, 27, and Kofi Ntim, both dealers in female sandals.

The Acting MTTU Commander said on 26th June, 2014 at about 8.30 pm, after the Ghana Portugal match which ended 2-1 in favour of Portugal, Oteng was riding an unregistered motorbike with Ntim at the back from Gomoa Akropong to Agona Swedru.

He said on reaching Gomoa Benso, they crashed with the bus from Gomoa Eshiem and Angel died instantly, but Ntim died at Swedru government hospital.

The Acting Commander said the bodies have been deposited at the Agona Swedru government mortuary for autopsy.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Hyundai Bus, Nicholas Budu, is assisting the Police in their investigations.

ASP Amfo cautioned that the MTTU Command had taken serious view of road users, especially those using unregistered motorbikes in the Municipality during the night to desist from the acts.
