Kumasi, March 9, GNA - A Kumasi Circuit Court has sentenced two unemployed men to a total of 10 years imprisonment for stealing seven secon= d hand motorbikes. Kofi Endanah, 25, and Hamidu Iddi, 30, pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy and stealing and would each serve five years in jail. The court presided over by Mr Justice Emmanuel Amoh-Yartey, issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a third person, Kwame Owusu Ansah, to answe= r a charge of dishonestly receiving stolen items. He would be brought to court on, Tuesday, March 22. Police Chief Inspector Archibald Kwesi Fandoh told the court that the complainant, Charles Agyemang, is a dealer in motor bikes at the Suame Magazine, Kumasi. On March 3, he reported to work at about 0830 hours and detected the theft of seven of his motorbikes. He therefore decided to conduct his own investigations and tracked two of the stolen bikes to the shop of Ansah. The prosecution said when asked how he came by the stolen bikes he mentioned Endanah and Iddi as the source. A formal report was made to the police and they were arrested. The police later retrieved the two bikes from Ansah. Endanah and Iddi in their caution statement admitted the crime.
