Two nephews stabbed uncle over 40 pesewas

Awutu Beraku (C/R), Aug. 5, GNA- Two nephews, believed to have stabbed their uncle over 40 Ghana pesewas were arrested and handed over to the police at Awutu. Kofi Essel alias Apeepei, 25, and Kwesi Kwanan alias Owoo, 30, both farmers at Gomoa Akramah in the Gomoa East District, after committing the crime, sought refuge at Ahentia near Awutu Bontrase in the Awutu-Senya District.

According to sources close to the police, a misunderstanding arose between Essel and Kwanan and their uncle, Kwesi Ntsie over the money at Gomoa Akramah near Awutu Beraku. The sources said this resulted in a fight and Kwanan held the hands of Ntsie while Essel stabbed him in the stomach and the back with a knife.

The sources said the suspected assailants who fled into the bush for fear of being lynched by the residents sought refuge with their step father, a Pastor of Twelve Apostles Church at Ahentia. The sources said when their step-father learnt of the tragedy, he informed the Odikro of the town about it. The Odikro organized some people who arrested the suspects and handed them over to the police. The body of Ntsie, who died while being conveyed to the hospital, has seen been deposited at the Winneba Government hospital for autopsy while police investigation continues.
