Two men – a labourer and driver’s mate, arrested for allegedly breaking into a house to steal items valued at over GH?5,000.00 have been ordered by a Kumasi Circuit Court to be held in prison custody.
Hassan Kenaba and Mensah Turkson have been charged with unlawful entry, causing unlawful damage and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty and would make their next appearance on Thursday, June 22.
Police Chief Inspector Hannah Acheampong told the court, presided over by Mrs Mary Nsenkyire that the crime was committed on January 17.
The complainant, Nana Osei Fobi Krampah, Kyidomhene of Adansi-Adomenu, received a telephone call that his house at Aboabota had been broken into and rushed to the place, where he found the door damaged and some items stolen.
These include a 62-inch flat screen television, home theatre and deck with two speakers.
The prosecution said a formal report was made to the police and based upon a tip off, the stolen television and deck were traced to the room of Keneba, the next day.
The wife of the accused told the police that the items were brought there by the husband and Turkson.
The police managed to track down and arrested the pair on June 9.
