Two suspects have been arrested by the Awutu Bereku District Police Command after they attempted to trace their missing iPhone during an operation at Awutu Bereku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

The suspects, Charles Amoah, 25, and Prince Wahab, 22, are both residents of Kasoa Ofaakor. They had come to the Awutu Bereku new site to conduct a house-to-house stealing operation.

Reports gathered by Kasapa News’ Yaw Boagyan reveal that the suspects traveled from Kasoa Ofaakor to Awutu Bereku new site to carry out their usual operation.

During the operation, one of the suspects dropped his iPhone while they were being chased by some victims.

After several hours, the suspects began calling their number to trace the missing phone.

One of the victims, who preferred to remain anonymous due to his job stated that the suspects went to the Kasoa MTN office to replace their SIM card after repeatedly calling to retrieve their missing phone.

He explained that he received a call from the Kasoa MTN office to confirm whether the phone was indeed missing before they could replace the SIM card for the suspects. The victim informed the MTN worker that the individuals in front of them were criminals wanted by the police, prompting the worker to delay them, leading to their arrest.

Currently, the suspects are in the custody of the Awutu Bereku District Police Command, assisting with the investigation.
