Two young men, 24-year-old Prince Aidoo and 20-year-old Festus Arthur, cried for mercy after the Assin Kyekyerwere Circuit Court sentenced each of them to 10 years in prison with hard labor for armed robbery.
According to reports, on August 19, 2024, the two men, along with one other who is currently on the run, attacked a 17-year-old final-year student of Nyankumase Ahenkruo Senior High School on his way home with a knife and robbed him of his mobile phone at Nyankumase Ahenkruo in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
Following a report by the victim, the two convicts were arrested by the Nyankumase Ahenkruo Police Command, and were processed for court, resulting in their sentencing.
In a video shared by EDHUB on social media platform X, the convicts pleaded that they are forgiven as they have regretted their actions.
"We plead with the authorities to forgive us. We have regretted our actions and asking that if there's anything the authorities can do about our sentencing, we beg them to come to our aid. We plead that the court should have mercy on us."
