An unemployed woman who bit off part of a co-tenant’s forefinger after the co-tenant had warned her to stay away from her husband has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court.
Charged with causing harm, Felicia Akyaa has had her plea reserved.
The court, presided over by MrsAbenaOppongAdjin-Dokum, however, admitted her to bail in the sum of GHc 10,000 with two sureties to reappear on November 22.
Prosecuting, Inspector Judith B. Asante prayed the court to amend the fact sheet to enable the parties to reappear before the court on November 22.
The facts, as narrated by the prosecutor, are that the complainant, Doris Dansoa, lived in the same house with the accused at Nungua, a suburb of Accra.
Prosecution said sometime this year, the complainant accused Akyaa of having sexual relationship with her husband. On October 20, this year, the complainant claimed she overheard her husband speaking on his mobile phone with the accused person.
According to the prosecutor the complainant later called the accused person on phone and warned her to stay away from her husband.
A few minutes after the call the accused person violently entered the complainant’s room, assaulted her and bit off part of her fore finger.
The complainant reported the matter to the police and she was issued with a medical form to seek medical attention whiles the accused person was arrested.
The accused person, in her investigation cautioned statement, admitted the offence.
