VICTORIA Amuzu, a 25-year-old woman, who allegedly killed her husband following some misunderstanding over missing GH¢2,000, is in the grips of the law.
The incident occurred on the 10th of January 2017 at Wassa Nkyiase in the Wassa Amenfi East District of Western Region.
Following her arrest and prosecution of the case, the suspect was remanded into prison custody. She would reappear before the court on 1st February 2017.
The Prosecutor, Detective Chief Inspector Braima, who is the Crime Officer of the Wassa Akropong Police Station, told to the Wassa Akropong Magistrate Court, presided over by Justice Joseph Mensah, that the couple have been married for a long period of time and had one daughter.
According to Chief Inspector Braima, sometime in December last year, Vitoria Amuzu asked her husband to give her some money for shopping for the Christmas but her husband declined and this led to some tension between them.
According to the Prosecutor, Victoria Amuzu subsequently went to their room to pick GH¢2,000 from her husband’s bag without his knowledge.
The Crime Officer explained that on the 8th of January, 2017, the husband opened his bag and noticed that GH¢2,000 had been taken away from it.
He, therefore, confronted his wife who admitted to taking the money but refused to give it back to him.
In an ensuing encounter that followed the altercation, the suspect angrily hit the husband's head with a chair and he died on the spot.
After hearing the preliminary submission, the Wassa Akropong Magistrate Court remanded the suspect into prison custody to reappear before the court on 1st February 2017.
