The suspect allegedly killed his brother and wife
A tragic incident occurred at Berekum, where Emmanuel Yeboah allegedly killed his brother and his wife over a disputed cashew farm.
The victims were ambushed and attacked with a cutlass and died later while receiving treatment at a health facility.
A statement issued by the Bono Regional police command and signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, the Regional Public Relations (PRO) of the police administration, said the suspect was arrested and remanded into police custody on January 3, 2025, by the Berekum circuit court presided over by Osei Kofi for attempted murder and causing harm.
He is to appear before the court on January 12, 2025, for further proceedings following an attack on his brother and his wife, who sustained multiple injuries.
He said victims were rushed to a health facility for treatment but died on January 8, 2025.
The attack, police believed, was triggered by a long-standing disagreement over the ownership of a cashew farm, while the victims were on their way to the disputed land.
A cutlass was retrieved as evidence from the bush, and investigations are ongoing.
