The Ghana Police Service has arrested seven individuals allegedly involved in a human trafficking
The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of seven individuals allegedly involved in a human trafficking syndicate in the Volta Region.
In a post shared on its official X page on January 12, 2026, the Ghana Police Service stated that the suspects, Prince Kaku (26), Ebenezer Kwabena Owusu (24), Emmanuel Essiama (30), Paul Mensah (26), Vida Gefah (26), Jerry Frimpong (26), and Bismark Perry (26), were apprehended on January 8 and 10, 2026, in Ho.
According to the police, the suspects were arrested through intelligence-led operations conducted at Fiave Dablah Ayekple Street, Ho CK Road, and Somey Junction.

“The Ghana Police Service has arrested seven suspected members of a human trafficking syndicate and rescued forty-eight victims during two separate intelligence-led operations in Ho in the Volta Region,” the post stated.
It further noted that the suspects allegedly defrauded victims under the pretence of securing visas for overseas travel.
“Searches conducted at the various locations uncovered official receipts issued to victims after collecting money under the pretext of securing visas for travel abroad, as well as assorted documents linked to other fraudulent activities.”
The Ghana Police Service also disclosed that a total of forty-eight victims were rescued during the operations.

According to them, the victims, largely young adults and students, were reportedly lured with promises of overseas travel and held under deceptive and coercive conditions, adding that the seven suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
